BARBA STATHIS holds a stake in the share capital of HALVATZIS MAKEDONIKI S.A., a Greek company with a long and successful presence in the agri-food sector. HALVATZIS produces and markets its main products, which include steamed vegetables, ready-to-eat vegetable and legume salads, and sugar-free fruit salads under the “Agrokipos Halvatzis” brand. The company also offers jams, traditional spoon sweets, and brined vegetables under the “Halvatzis Family” and “Makedoniki” brands.

Barba Stathis: cultivating value for the Economy, Employment and the Primary sector 

  • Over the five-year period (2019-2023), the company’s total contribution to GDP was estimated at €507 million. During this time, its total impact on public revenues, through taxes and levies resulting from its operations, was estimated at €118 million.
  • Over the same period, the contribution of BARBA STATHIS to domestic employment is of notable significance. For every one (1) direct job created by the company, three additional jobs were supported within the Greek economy.
  • BARBA STATHIS has long supported the domestic primary sector through its Contract Farming program, providing propagating material, financial support, and training to its partner producers who cultivate more than 3.000 hectares of fertile Greek land.
  • Through its Corporate Social Responsibility program “We Do Good” the company provides annually more than 70 tons of frozen vegetables and fresh salads free of charge, ensuring 350,000 meals and contributing to the fight against food insecurity, with a special focus on children.
